Frequently asked questions

Can I download Nimbrilo yet?

There is currently no published installation release, App Store listing or TestFlight version. Nimbrilo is in development, with current verification focused on Mac. Linux builds and automated tests have passed on Ubuntu 24.04. iPadOS has been tested in the simulator; real mobile devices and Windows are still pending.

Do my files stay in Markdown?

Yes. Documents are ordinary .md files. Local images live in an accompanying assets folder. Share the file and image folder together so the images remain accessible.

Does recovery automatically save my original file?

No. The local backup keeps your working draft for recovery after a restart. You change the original file by choosing Save. If another program has changed the file, Nimbrilo prevents silently overwriting it.

What can I edit visually?

Headings, lists, tasks, tables, quotes, code, links and images are supported. HTML, footnotes, Mermaid and formulas are preserved in source view; they currently have no visual editing support.

Can I create PDF files?

Mac and iPad support basic local export from the visual view. Complex tables and the full export layout still need verification. Export is disabled in source mode; the PDF adapter is still missing on Linux and Windows.
